Castles?! I’ve Got Your Castles Right Here
It seems county Galway contains more castles than any other part of Ireland. We past by three today as we did our last 36 km into Galway thus completing our journey across an entire country.
Yeaah! Woo hoo! Ha ha!
While we weren’t able to get close to the later two, the first which I later researched through picture comparison, is the last remaining tower of Clooneen castle. This we did get into, though we had to cross a farm to enter it, more amazing pictures and video will be posted upon our return.
Galway itself is much more multicultural and is vaguely reminiscent of San Francisco in this regard. We just finished a lovely dinner, which included some fine cheeses such as an elderberry cheese and a Guinness cheese (much better in cheese form).
At this point we’re planning on renting a car to get to a few varied parts of the country we would otherwise have to skip due to time constraints. We hope to visit many more castles as well as a few other surprise locations (hopefully)

It sounds like a great idea to rent a car. Much more sane.
Im super excited to see the pictures and footage from inside of the castle.
It looks pretty and rather warm, i hope the weather stays nice for this touristy part of your adventure 😀

Hey lads, So glad your seeing the sense of procuring an additional mode of transportation. Please remember to drive on the wrong side of the road! So, is that really a ruined castle in the photo or just another silly rock formation? For all we know it could only be 6 inches tall. Where’s the little people to add perspective? Like Jenn said, for all we know you guy’s are really just kickin it in Modesto. Have oodles of fun.

Oops! I spoke rashly! You HAVE eaten cheeses! And they sounded DELICIOUS! I am so jealous.
I am all for the car idea. Riding sounded fun, but you are in IRELAND! You should be also enjoying it RESTFULLY as well! 🙂 Good job on making it across, though! I am SO proud and excited for you guys!
