Welcome to the journal of our trip
Well, I will be leaving for Europe in 3 weeks time. Right now is the “storm before the calm” as I try to finish as many client projects as I can and make sure everything it set for the trip itself. All this is quite boring, so let’s talk about something completely different:
The Trip as Planned so far
We will be flying out the 19th of June to London on Virgin airlines which even in coach is very posh with extra leg room and seat back entertainment systems. They also, surprisingly, had the least expensive flight right now which is pretty amazing.
We will arrive at Heathrow International Airport at around 10:00 am and plan to spend the next two days in London.
On the 22nd at 5:00 am we will take the Eurostar through the Chunnel to Paris. You might ask “Why so early?” to which I would reply “$100 cheaper per person on the 5:00am as opposed to the 7:00am or later trains.”
We will arrive in Paris around 9:00am and plan on spending the whole day and most of the next in and around Paris. Our next train will travel from Paris to Munich, but doesn’t leave until 8:00 pm.
This second train is the Night line train, which we will have a sleeper car on and rest through the night, waking up somewhere in Deutschland. We will have a brief stop over inMunich, just 4 hours, but it should be enough time to take in some of the local German charm, then it’s off onto our last train which is a scenic journey through the Swiss Alps which arrives in Venice on the 24th at 6:00pm.
From there we plan to stay in Venice a day or two, rent a car, then go wherever we please, making our way toward Rome over the next week. Stay tuned for future updates.
