*Update to the update* Have you ever realized you’ve done something So stupid or made an oversight so large as to cause yourself to be mortified with you own ineptitude, only to later realize that you never did what you thought you had, but rather panicked over a complete misunderstanding of the situation? Well that was me last night and this morning. See, last night when we got back to our hotel, I was looking over the tickets for our train the following evening. I happens to glance over at my phone and see that the date which should be tomorrow, was today, meaning we had missed our train. Well after a night mulling over what I might do, I resolved to do all I could to rectify the situation. It took until the next morning, going to the train station and even talking with a ticket agent about possible options for me to realize; we had not, in fact, missed our train, but rather I had been looking at the date at 12:05 in the morning. Oops… Now I just feel a wee bit foolish, but much relieved.<\/p>\n

After this embarrassing escapade, we put our bags in a locker and set off to enjoy our last day in Paris.<\/p>\n

\"20120623-215941.jpg\"<\/a>Three hours we spent traversing the massive and in and of itself as a building, impressive Louvre (which used to be a private residence) admiring paintings by masters throughout the ages, Egyption artifacts, Napoleon’s private apartments and even the remains of a once beautiful castle underneath where the Louvre now stands.

\nLater, we meandered through the gardens outside the Louvre, enjoyed a Cr\u00eape or two then headed back to the Champs \u00c9lys\u00e9es (far too crowded in the daytime on a Saturday) where I was able to get a very nice new pair of jeans at Hugo Boss.\"20120623-215950.jpg\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Paris, despite it’s flaws is a romantic city, it’s a city which in its very core believes in and fosters dreams which are ostentatious, unrealistic and often times just plain crazy. But every once in a while, these dreams can come true ad when they do they are the most brilliant of dreams. This ideal is what gives Paris it’s character and charm, fuels it’s art and it’s culture. I can see why it is a favorite destination of those blessed to be in love.<\/p>\n

Now we’re on the German Nightline train bound for Munich, with a bunk mate from Oxford named Charlie, who having traveled this before is full of useful information and who being English, is hilarious.<\/p>\n
